The Amnesia range from Sunset Line & Twine, a memory free, monofilament trace. Amnesia is world renowned and widely used as a memory free monofimanet trade material for surf casting.

Also great as leader material for saltwater fly fishing, the bright red and green versions are useful for freshwater fly fisherman by providing a visible section in the leader.

Sunset Amnesia is available in Black, Clear, Green and Red in line weights of 6 lb (2.7 kg) through to 60 lb (27.2 kg). Amnesia is manufactured using a proprietary process. This gives it several sought after characteristics. Memory free, toughness and extra stretch compared to other monofilament lines.

This line is virtually memory free and has extra stretch when compared to other monofilament lines. This makes Amnesia ideal as a shock leader, leader or trace material.

Once given a good stretch Amensia loses it's memory. Amnesia fishing line is made in the USA and is ideal for various fishing methods.

Most widely known in surf casting circles across the world and increasingly so here in NZ for it's use as a shock leader, using a length of Sunset Amnesia as a shock trace helps absorb the shock when casting, in turn this reduces the chances of your line breaking when going for distance.

Best trace line

I’d seen friends use this line but always stuck to the other stuff I’d always used. The other stuff is good for 1 session, but then gets all kinked and out of shape. Amnesia lasts for about 3 or 4 trips before I re-tie.

Not sure

Ihave only used recently. I snell all my hooks and have found that it pays to leave a reasonable tag because this line doesn't seem to bind on itself as normal nylon does. That being said, I did a trip to East cape last weekend and had no issue with the traces coming undone or twisting after two days surfcasting with the same trace. My son found the same. Recommended.
