The Kilwell Freshwater Jig Rig Mix 7 is a ready-made trout jig rig designed to get you started with freshwater jigging in NZ lakes and rivers.
This pre-tied jig rig is best fished vertically near the bottom or at the depth where trout are holding, whether slow drifting or fishing at anchor. Only slight rod movements are needed to create lifelike action and trigger aggressive strikes.
Professionally tied using three of the most popular trout jigging flies — Green Orbit Yellow, Grey Ghost Red, and Green Rabbit — this rig delivers proven attraction across a range of water clarity and light conditions.
Built on a durable 12lb fluorocarbon backbone, fluorocarbon droppers branch from three-way crane swivels at 70cm intervals to reduce line twist and improve presentation. Simply tie your main line to the top triangle swivel, attach a 1½–2oz sinker to the bottom interlock swivel, and you’re ready to fish.
