The Balzer Shirasu IM-8 Spoon Trout Rod is a specialist ultralight spinning rod designed for anglers fishing micro spoons and other lightweight trout lures. Its sensitive tip is designed to detect even subtle bites, while the stiffer backbone provides the power needed to set the hook and control fish.

Available in 1.85m (6.07ft) and 2.15m (7.05ft) lengths, both models are rated for an ultra-light 1.5–5g casting weight. The short length and compact handle provide excellent lure control, allowing micro-baits to be guided with small movements of the wrist.

The 36Ton IM-8 carbon fibre blank with carbon tape provides a lightweight, responsive foundation, while Titanium SIC guides are suitable for use with both monofilament and braided lines.
